Kennedy Posts 5th-Place Finish for Chargers at Knox Spring Invite

Sophomore Kelli Kennedy (Henry, Ill./Henry-Senachwine) finished fifth overall as the Carl Sandburg College women’s golf team placed second in the Knox Spring Invite on Sunday at Soangetaha Country Club.
Faced with chilly, windy conditions, Kennedy carded a 98 for the Chargers’ low round. Sandburg placed second as a team with a 412 total, just three shots behind Iowa Wesleyan.
The Chargers’ other three golfers also posted top-10 finishes Averi Heintzelman (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) was eighth at 103, Elizabeth Whitford (Dahinda, Ill./Galva) was ninth with a 104 and Rylee Liles (Hennepin, Ill./Putnam County) rounded out the top 10 with a 107.
